Who we are
Price Ranger operates https://www.priceranger.app. This policy explains how we handle personal information. The Terms of Service explain that you own the content you enter, and the license you give us to run the service. The Refunds page explains refunds.
“Personal information” means information that identifies you or your customers, or that can reasonably be linked to you or them. That includes name, email, phone, address, payment details, and your customers’ contact details.
Information we collect
Account. Name, email, phone, and address if you provide them, plus the identifiers needed to sign you in. Passwords and passkeys are handled by our authentication provider. We do not see your full password. If you choose Apple, we receive the identifier and email that provider shares with us. We offer Sign in with Google and receive only your name, email, and profile picture (the openid, email, and profile scopes). We use that information solely for authentication and account display. We do not sell or share it, and we do not use it for ads. That use is consistent with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Quotes and content. Prices, quotes, line items, descriptions, notes, photos of items, outcomes such as whether something sold, and contact details of your customers if you type them in.
Payment. Payments go through Stripe. Stripe collects the card number and billing details. We do not store your full card number. We receive a customer id, the plan, the amount, a card brand and last four digits when Stripe provides them, invoice status, and renewal dates.
Device and usage. Browser and device type, pages you open, rough timing, and product events such as creating a price, sharing a link, or opening plans. We store these events in our own database. We do not use a separate analytics product.
Assistant, photos, and drafts. Messages you send the assistant, and photos you submit so we can suggest what an item is. Before assistant chat text is sent to a model, we strip names, email addresses, phone numbers, and street addresses we can detect. Files, notes, and photos you upload so we can build a price draft are sent to the model so it can read them, including whatever is in those files. A feedback note may also be sent so a model can classify it.
Feedback. You can drag a region of the screen and add a note, signed in or signed out. A screenshot of that region is optional. We also receive the page address, app version, and, when the browser provides them, technical details such as viewport size and recent console errors, so we can reproduce a bug.
We do not ask for a government ID. We do not collect precise GPS location.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Create and secure your account, including guest drafts.
- Save quotes and show them back to you.
- Suggest prices and run the assistant.
- Take payment, send receipts, and handle refunds.
- Send service email, including sign-in mail and replies to feedback.
- Build anonymized benchmarks and improve the service and its models.
- Fix bugs, understand which features are used, and prevent abuse.
- Comply with law and respond to valid legal requests.
We do not use your personal information to advertise other companies’ products. We do not sell it.
Anonymized benchmarks
We may combine prices and outcomes into group benchmarks, such as a range for a kind of job or item. A benchmark shown to another user is aggregated and anonymized. It does not include your name, your customer’s name, email, phone, address, or photos.
We strip those identifiers before a price is counted toward a benchmark. A benchmark is a group figure. It is not another customer’s view of your quote, your customer list, or your photos. We will not try to re-identify that data.
Google user data
Sign in with Google. We offer Sign in with Google. We request only the openid, email, and profile scopes, and we receive only your name, email, and profile picture. We use that information solely for authentication and account display. We do not sell or share it, and we do not use it for ads. This is consistent with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google user data. If you connect a Google account, Price Ranger asks only for access to the Google Sheets files you choose or that Price Ranger creates for you (the drive.file permission), plus your email to identify the connection. We use this access only to read and write the price tables in those files so they appear and stay in sync in Price Ranger. We do not access other files in your Google Drive. We store your Google access tokens encrypted and only cache sheet contents as needed to show your prices. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or use it to train generalized AI models, and people at Price Ranger do not read it unless you ask us to for support, it is needed for security, or the law requires it. You can disconnect anytime in Settings or at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. We then delete stored tokens and cached sheet data within 30 days.
Price Ranger’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How long we keep information
We keep account information and quotes while the account is open. When you delete the account, or when we finish a deletion request, we delete or de-identify the personal information in our systems, including quotes stored on the account.
Stripe may keep payment records for its own legal and accounting duties. Anonymized benchmark figures that cannot identify you or your customers may remain. Feedback we are still working on may stay until the issue is closed or you ask us to delete it. Security logs are kept for a limited time. A shared link stops working when the quote or the account is deleted, or when we take the link down at your request.
Security
We use HTTPS, access controls, and hosted database and payment providers. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. Use a password you do not reuse, and email support@priceranger.app if you think someone else reached your account.
Your choices
Access. Your prices, quotes, and plan are in the app. Email support@priceranger.app for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Export. Email support@priceranger.app and we will send a copy of your account information and quotes.
Correct. Edit what the app lets you change, or email us and we will correct personal information that is inaccurate.
Delete. Use Settings → Delete account, or email support@priceranger.app. Deletion cancels an active subscription. It is permanent. It does not unsend a quote link someone already opened, and it does not erase an anonymized benchmark figure that can no longer identify you.
Sale or sharing opt-out. We do not sell or share personal information. Settings still has “Opt out of the sale or sharing of my personal information,” and we honor that choice. That control is for personal information. Anonymized benchmarks, which do not identify you or your customers, are part of the terms you accept.
California privacy rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. You will not be discriminated against for using these rights.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information. Under California law, “share” means disclosing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not do that.
Depending on what you give us and which features you use, we collect: identifiers (such as name, email, and account id); customer records (such as phone, address, and your customers’ contact details); commercial information (such as plan, purchases, and quotes); internet or network activity (such as pages and product events); visual information (item photos and optional feedback screenshots); and professional information if you describe a trade or business. We use these categories to provide the service, as described above, and we keep them as described in “How long we keep information.”
We do not collect sensitive personal information in order to infer characteristics about you. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than providing the service.
To use a right, email support@priceranger.app or use Settings. We verify the request with the email on the account. An authorized agent may submit a request with proof that you gave them permission. We aim to respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you, within the period the law allows. If we deny a request, we will tell you why and how to appeal by replying to that email.
Children
Price Ranger is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email support@priceranger.app and we will delete it.
International transfers
We are in the United States. If you use Price Ranger from another country, your information is processed in the United States and in other countries where the service providers listed above operate. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from yours.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page, change the effective date, and, for a material change, give notice in the product or by email. The version at https://www.priceranger.app/privacy is the current one.
